16 EU nations including france and germany, demanded that more action was taken to protect their dairy farms against global financial crisis. While people got together to talk about finding help for them, some of the dairy farmers got together outside and demonstrated to demand more help. Apparently milk prices dropped and farmers were expected to loose up to 14 billion dollors. The EU decided to start some extra help for farmers beyond what it already pays to them.
